LeBron James will open the coming regular season in the same place where it began: Boston.
The Celtics will host James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and the rest of the Miami Heat at 7:30 Wednesday night, Oct. 26, in the first game of the new NBA season. The game will match the Celtics' Big Three of Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce against the younger, even more super-hyped version put together by Miami this offseason.
For the second consecutive year, the Celtics will spend Christmas Day in Florida (that's home, at least, for coach Doc Rivers) when they visit the Magic in a rematch of last season's Eastern Conference Finals. That game, set for 2:30 p.m., is part of the undercard for the main event, when Miami visits the defending champion Lakers at 5 p.m.
In one other game announced by the NBA tonight, Boston will host Orlando at 8 p.m. on Jan. 17.
The full NBA schedule will be announced next week. That's when we'll find out, among other things, when James makes his first trip back to Cleveland. Here's a look at the other "marquee games" announced by the association tonight.
