BOSTON (AP) -- A California man has entered a not guilty plea in Boston to charges accusing him of selling fake NBA Finals tickets.

Forty-two-year-old Edward Lopez of Whittier was arraigned Monday at Boston Municipal Court on three counts of larceny over $250 by scheme. His bail was set at $3,000.

Authorities say a Boston woman told them Sunday she paid $1,400 for three tickets she saw advertised on Craigslist. She suspected they were counterfeit when she compared them to authentic tickets. Police had the woman's sister contact the seller again, and arrested him when they met for the transaction.

Prosecutors said a Stoneham man unrelated to the women told authorities Monday he had bought four fake tickets from Lopez for $2,100.

Defense attorney Robert Proctor says Lopez denies the charges. He returns to court July 12.
