sly_0127.jpgDuring an entertaining interview this morning on WEEI's Dennis & Callahan show, Celtics coach Doc Rivers touched on the subject of strange personalities from his playing days. Rivers was asked about the uproar over nude cellphone pictures of Blazers center Greg Oden that found their way to the Internet, and Rivers said that a lot of players from the 1980s might have been in trouble had such technology been available back then -- he mentioned former Hawks teammates Kevin Willis and Dominique Wilkins in particular.

When asked about the craziest player he ever played with or against, Rivers didn't think too long before naming Rhode Island's own Sly Williams, who played on the Hawks with Rivers from 1983 to 1985.

Rivers also spoke about the trash talking of power forward Kevin Garnett, which has been a hot topic recently. He defended Garnett, and said that the difference between his actions and those of the recently fined Glen "Big Baby" Davis was that Davis had directed his words at a fan, while Garnett just tears into opposing players.
