BOSTON -- Boston center Kendrick Perkins is chasing franchise history.

Perkins is currently shooting 64.4 percent from the field and is first in the NBA in that category.

Cedric Maxwell set the Celtics all-time franchise mark for field goal percentage during the 1979-80 season when he shot 60.9 percent from the floor, but Perkins is on pace to eclipse that mark.

Since the game against the Golden State Warriors on Nov. 18, 2009, Perkins has knocked down 75 percent of his shots (42-for-56). He is averaging a career-best 12.4 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game.
