It wasn't pretty, but the Celtics were able to squeak out a 98-89 victory over the upset minded Milwaukee Bucks to capture their eighth consecutive win and hand the Bucks their sixth straight road loss.
The Bucks went shot-for-shot with the Celtics until Rajon Rondo snapped an 86-86 tie with two free throws with 4:41 remaining in the game. That sparked a 7-0 Celtics run over the next two minutes which gave the Celtics a 93-86 lead. Boston was never in danger of losing its lead after that.
Rondo was one rebound away from recording his first triple-double of the season, finishing with 11 points, 13 assists and 9 rebounds.
Kevin Garnett led the Celtics with 25 points and 9 rebounds. Paul Pierce (5 points, 5 rebounds) and Kendrick Perkins (5 rebounds) each had 15 points, while Rasheed Wallace finished with 13 points and Ray Allen chipped in 13 points.
Andrew Bogut led Milwaukee with 25 points and 14 rebounds. Ersan Ilyasova (19 points, 8 rebounds), Brandon Jennings (17 points), and Carlos Delfino (12 points, 5 assists) also played well for Milwaukee.
