| Celtics-Hornets in-game update: Celtics lead cut to three after three »
-- Paul Pierce got hot in the second half of Friday's rout of Charlotte and he has not cooled off since. The captain of the Celtics has already poured in 20 points, connecting on eight of 10 shots to get the Celtics out to a 47-38 halftime lead. In the featured matchup, Rajon Rondo has two points and six assists and Chris Paul has five points and three assists for New Orleans. The two teams battled back-and-forth in a nip-and-tuck affair until Ray Allen (7 points) sparked an 11-2 Celtics surge with a 3-pointer, 5:49 into the second quarter. Pierce capped off the run with a 25-foot 3-pointer that gave the Celtics a 41-30 lead. Peja Stojakovic (10 points), Bobby Brown (8 points) and Julian Wright (7 points) have kept the Hornets in the game. There have been six ties and four lead changes in the game so far. |
