-- The Celtics reportedly offered Rajon Rondo a contract extension yesterday, but, according to Yahoo! Sports, Rondo and the Celtics could not come to an agreement. If the two sides cannot come to an agreement by Friday, Rondo will become a restricted free agent at the end of the season. The Celtics will have the right to match any offer that he gets. "We're not going to do an extension right now," Duffy told Yahoo!. "The conversation has been cordial. We've been talking the last couple of weeks. There is a difference between the perception of him in their eyes and our eyes. With that being said, the focus is on Rajon to have a fantastic season and concentrate on winning a championship." WEEI.com and FoxSports.com are reporting that the Celtics offered Rondo a five-year deal reportedly worth $45 million and Rondo is asking between $55 and $60 million over five years. Chris Paul, at $13.6 million, Deron Williams $13.5 million), Steve Nash ($13.1 million), Chauncey Billups ($12.1 million) and Baron Davis ($12.1 million) are among the highest paid point guards in the league. Rondo averaged 11.9 points, 8.2 assists and 5.2 rebounds for the Celtics last season. He nearly averaged a triple-double in the playoffs - 16.9 points, 9.8 assists and 9.7 rebounds in 14 games 2 CommentsLeave a comment |

Is Rondo out of his mind.. He's not even in the top 20 point guards in the league, and as of now he is "overpaid".

Very easy to have triple doubles and such when you are playing with 3 hall of famers. Rest assured that if he decides to go to another team that is not as stacked... you will see the true phenom that is rondo... NOT!!!
