Rhode Island team heading to USTA League Championships

Rally Point's tradition of producing tennis champions will continue this weekend when the Greenville club's men's 3.0 team plays in the USTA League Championships at the Randolph Tennis Center in Tucson, Ariz.

The Rhode Island entry, the New England Section champion, will play the Florida Section Friday morning and the Northern Section on Friday afternoon. The team will return to the courts Saturday morning against Mid-Atlantic and Saturday afternoon against Middle States.

Denis Fortier of Lincoln and Kevin Proulx of Greenville are the captains. Their players include Scott Martin of Cranston, Daniel Crawley of Cumberland, Matthew Charland of Wakefield, Donald Fournier of Chepachet, Justin Pimental of Hope, Peter Heaton of Scituate, Anthony Duluise of Cranston, Richard McCahey of Greenville, Rajan Eddy of Providence, Khalil Tiliouine of Warwick and Stephen Aldous of Chepachet.

Champions from the 17 USTA sections will compete. Semifinals and finals are scheduled for Sunday.
