-- Celtics backup forward Bill Walker left Wednesday's practice early and was sent to Boston to get an MRI on his surgically repaired right knee. It is unknown if he will return to Newport this week.

Walker, who has a long history of knee problems, averaged 18.9 points and 5.3 rebounds in 15 games for the Celtics' D-League team Utah, and 3.0 points and 1.0 rebounds in 29 games for the Celtics last season.

The 6-foot-6, 220-pound small forward was considered a lottery pick before suffering a right knee injury during an NBA workout at the Golden State Warriors facility on June 15, 2008. He remained in the draft despite the injury and was selected by the Washington Wizards 47th overall and was subsequently traded to the Celtics for cash considerations.

Walker tore his left ACL while at Kansas State.
