New England Basketball Hall of Fame will honor 41 locals

Forty players, coaches, administrators and officials with ties to Rhode Island will be inducted into the New England Basketball Hall of Fame Oct. 9 at Mohegan Sun. They are among the 151 members of the Class of 2009.

Here's a list of the local honorees:
Division I Men: Chet Jaworski and Dennis McGovern, URI; Arnie Berman, Brown
Division I Women: Martina Jerant, Brown
Division II Men's Coach: Tom Folliard, Bryant and Stonehill
Division II Women: Karen Marshall Dalrymple, Bryant
Division III Men: Mike Van Leesten, RIC
Division III Women: Jo-Jo D'Alessandro and Cathy Lanni, RIC
NAIA Men: Walt Edwards of Providence, Husson
Junior College Men: Dobie Dennis, Bill Perry, Willie Washington, CCRI; Ron Jackson, Robury CC and PC
Junior College Women: Claudia DeFaria and Jerilyn Johnson, CCRI and RIC
Junior College Women's Coach: Cas Grygorcewicz, Mitchell and CCRI
