Natalie Bates of North Kingstown, a sophomore at Daniel Webster College in Nashua, N.H., is the New England Collegiate Conference field hockey player of the week. A sophomore forward, she scored three goals in two victories. She led the team in scoring last year and was first-team All-NECC. Bates was a first-team All-State selection in 2007 after leading North Kingstown High School to the state championship. She was the MVP of the state tournament.
