Jeffrey Martin of Point Judith has won the Callaway New England PGA Assistants Championship and set a record in the process.

Martin shot a 6-under-par 64 at Tedesco County Club in the opening round of the regional championship. He followed that with an even-par 70 Thursday to take the title with a 134 total, three better than Marc Spencer of Haverhill, Mass.
