bias_0924.jpgAn hourlong documentary about Len Bias, the former University of Maryland star who died of a cocaine overdose after the Boston Celtics made him the second overall pick in the 1986 NBA Draft, debuted in a private screening in Washington, D.C., yesterday, and will be shown on ESPN on Nov. 3.

The film, "Without Bias," features interviews with Bias' mother, his college coach Lefty Driesell, former teammates and Washington-area reporters -- and even Brian Tribble, the man who was acquitted on a charge of providing the cocaine to Bias.

Bias' mother, Lonise, has since her son's death become a public speaker on the dangers of drug use. At yesterday's screening, according to FanHouse.com, she said, "We are firm believers, my family firmly believes, that Len did more for this nation in death than he ever did in life."
