The Rhode Island champion Cranston Babe Ruth team for 15-year-olds came from behind and defeated Westfield, Mass., 13-7, on Sunday to win the New England regional championship.

Cranston rallied from a 7-2 deficit, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the seventh inning, to qualify for the national finals, to be played in Longview, Wash., starting on Aug. 21.

Matt Pagano was one of the key players for the victors, pitching three innings of solid relief. He also had two hits.

Tyler Collins smacked two singles and drove in two runs and Brandon Ruggieri added a pair of singles for Cranston, which was undefeated in the eight-team, double-elimination regional tourney.
