Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reported today that the Celtics are close to a two-year deal with restricted free-agent forward Glen Davis. The Celtics' former second-round draft pick had a breakout postseason last year, averaging 15.8 points per game and hitting a buzzer-beating shot to beat Orlando in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference semifinals, but he was not able to interest teams in offering him big money in the free-agent market.
If he does rejoin the Celtics, he will be part of a revamped front line that welcomes back Kevin Garnett from injury, and has added Rasheed Wallace and Shelden Williams to provide depth that Boston lacked last season.
