NEWPORT -- Quarterfinal matches have begun at the Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships at the Newport Casino, and five Americans, the most since 2002, are still playing. Americans Jesse Levine and Rejeev Ram are on serve in the third set with Levine leading, 3-2, and third-seeded Sam Querrey and seventh-seeded Kevin Kim, both American, are just starting on the Stadium Court. Brendan Evans of the U.S. is waiting to play Olivier Rochus of Belgium after Levine and Ram finish. Nicolas Mahut and two-time defending champion Fabrice Santoro will follow Kim and Querrey in an all-French quarterfinal. They are also scheduled to play doubles together after their quarterfinal. All quarterfinalists won second-round matches earlier today. Among the losers were the 2002 champion, Taylor Dent, to Santoro, and the 2003 winner, Robby Ginepri, to Evans. -- MIKE SZOSTAK
