| Red Sox survive ninth-inning Oakland rally attempt, win 5-4 »
Fabrice Santoro will have to wait another day to get his title defense underway. The two-time defending champion's match with Flavio Cipolla here at the Campbell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships was suspended at 6:03. Clouds rolled in and a light rain began to fall shortly after they started their match, which was tied at 3-all in the first set. With a severe thunderstorm warning in effect tonight, a decision was quickly made to halt play. The grounds crew was rushing frantically to cover the courts with large blue tarps when the drizzle turned into a downpour. |
