The Boston Herald's Mark Murphy reports today that restricted free-agent forward Glen Davis is looking more likely to be back in the green next season, as the market for his services has not been as robust as he had hoped.
Murphy reports that the Detroit Pistons are interested in acquiring Big Baby, but that the Celtics would easily be able to match the $3.2 million that Detroit has to offer. Murphy's report also has three unnamed league sources saying that the Celtics investigated trading Davis to the Miami Heat in exchange for fellow restricted free agent Jamario Moon, but that the deal is now dead.
