The Boston Globe is reporting that guard Marquis Daniels has committed to signing with the Celtics. The 28-year-old guard will receive the biannual exception contract worth $1.9 million unless a sign and trade deal is worked out with his former team, the Indiana Pacers, the story says. Such a trade could potentially involve Brian Scalabrine.

Daniels averaged 13.6 points and 4.6 rebounds per game last season, and is expected to back up Ray Allen and Paul Pierce with Boston.
