Top-seeded Mardy Fish, ranked No. 25 on the ATP World Tour, has withdrawn from the Campell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships to replace Andy Roddick on the U.S. Davis Cup team.

Roddick withdrew from the Davis Cup tie against Croatia this weekend after his epic five-set final at Wimbledon on Sunday. He lost to Roger Federer in the longest fifth set in Wimbledon history.

"I'm honored to be selected to represent the United States in Davis Cup again and am excited to join the team in Croatia," Fish said in a statement. "Obviously Andy had a very difficult match on Sunday in the Wimbledon final, and I know this was a very hard decision for him to make, I hope I can help make him proud this weekend."

A lucky loser, the highest ranked loser in the final round of qualifying, will take Fish's place in the draw. The lucky loser and the four qualifiers will have their names drawn to determine their place in the 32-man draw.

Fish's absence means there will be no No. 1 seed, and the Curse of the Casino will continue. No top seed has won this event since it became part of the pro tour in 1977.
