After huddling on the Front Lawn courts for several minutes, officials of the Cambell's Hall of Fame Tennis Championships have decided to start play at about 2:15 p.m.

But with 12 singles matches on the day's card, they opted to put one of eight doubles matches on Court 2. Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo and Santiago Ventura of Spain will play Philipp Petzschner of Germany and Alexander Peya of Austria. Peya was scheduled for a first-round singles match at 10:30 this morning.

Another doubles match is scheduled for 3 p.m. Frank Moser of Germany and Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan will meet Michael Kohlmann of Germany and Rogier Wassen of The Netherlands.

Officials have not explained the decision to put doubles on the grass before singles.
