It has been a special week for Aaron Bates with his promotion to Boston, but the timing has not been the best in some ways.
Bates has played in two games for Boston and gone 0-for-6 with four strikeouts. That means he has not had a hit in his last 35 at-bats.
The first baseman was riding an 0-for-29 slump when the Sox called him up. Going back further, Bates is six for his last 66. Bates had been hitting .340 at Portland when he was promoted to Pawtucket.
