Kurt Bodziony and Corky Benevides and put home course knowledge to good use Wednesday as they led the field at Fenner Hill in the third and final day of qualifying for the R.I. Amateur Golf Championship. Bodziony won medalist honors, with a 1-under 71, and Benevides tied for second with a 72. Both are Fenner Hill members. Kurt Hoffman of Pawtucket also had a 72. It took a score of 78 to advance to the Amateur July 13-17 at Crestwood. Others earning berths are: 73 _ Matt Creamer, Chris Nicynski and Herb Stevens; 74 _ Robert Glass III, Owen Lynch and Scott Boulis; 75 _ Nicholas Caccia, Matt Sterling, Chip Kohn and David Boggini; 76 _ Ray English and Herman Dacones; 77 _ Michael Wall, Tom Caffrey, Jared Cook, Robert Rubino, Chris Roloff; 78 _ Michael Warburg, Greg Boyer, Steven Heath'' |
