New York Yankees pitcher A.J. Burnett has been suspended six games by Major League Baseball, which found that he intentionally threw at the head of the Rangers' Nelson Cruz during Tuesday night's game in New York. Burnett is appealing.

MLB also issued an undisclosed fine to Rangers pitcher Vicente Padilla, who hit the Yankees' Mark Teixeira with two pitches in the same game. Padilla may be on his way out in Texas, which reportedly requested outright waivers on the veteran pitcher yesterday.
