DETROIT (AP) -- The Colorado Rockies have placed catcher Chris Iannetta on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring.

The move was announced moments before the first pitch of Sunday's game against the Tigers. Iannetta, a native of Providence and a graduate of St. Raphael Academy in Pawtucket, strained the hamstring while running the bases in Saturday's 4-3 win over Detroit.

Yorvit Torrealba replace Iannetta on Saturday and started on Sunday. The Rockies purchased the contract of catcher Paul Phillips from Triple-A Colorado Springs.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the Rockies moved infielder Jeff Baker (hand) to the 60-day disabled list.

Phillips did not arrive in Detroit in time for the first pitch of Sunday's game, but was expected to arrive in the early innings.
