The Pawtucket Red Sox and the Buffalo Bisons battled to a scoreless tie through 10 innings Sunday afternoon, until everything changed in the 11th. Buffalo took the lead on Argenis Reyes' two-out, two-run home run off Jose Vaquedano, who was working his second inning of relief. But the PawSox' offense improbably came alive in the bottom of the 11th, off Buffalo reliever Eddie Kunz. Paul McAnulty led off with a double and moved to third on Travis Denker's single. Angel Chavez singled McAnulty home, Denker moving to second. Pinch hitter Sandy Madera then singled to load the bases. Kunz struck out Izzy Suarez, but Freddy Guzman then tied the game with another single. Jonathan Van Every was next, and he walked to force home the game-winning run. PawSox starter Michael Bowden pitched eight shutout innings, allowing four walks and three hits and striking out seven. Click here to see the box score. |
