COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (AP) - Jim Rice said it was nice to feel like a rookie again. He posed for photos with an elementary school group and handled bats once used by Babe Ruth and Rabbit Maranville. Rice was elected to the hall in January in his 15th and final year of eligibility on the Baseball Writers' Association of America ballot. He'll be inducted in July along with Rickey Henderson, who toured the hall a week ago, and former New York Yankees and Cleveland Indians second baseman Joe Gordon, who was elected posthumously by the Veterans Committee. Rice played his entire career with the Red Sox. |
