Recruited to be on the Biggest Loser while walking out of Fenway Park one day, Mark lost 129 pounds and Jay dropped 91 pounds while on the show. They have both kept the weight off, and Mark teaches two spin classes at his gym every Saturday, while Jay is teaching a kids' fitness class at the gym.

Jay asked to pass along the word about a road race that he and his wife, Kathy, have organized called the BWS 5K. The second annual event will be held Oct. 4 at 10 a.m. at Fort Tabor in New Bedford. BWS stands for Beckwith-Wiedemann Syndrome, an overgrowth disorder which can result in failure of the abdominal wall to close, an enlarged tongue or increased birth weight or head circumference, among other physical characteristics. In the case of the Krugers' daughter, she was born with her intestines on the outside of her body. Proceeds from the road race will benefit the Beckwith-Wiedemann Children's Foundation.
