WARWICK -- Defending state champion Hendricken didn't waste any time evening its season series with Cranston West as the Hawks scored three runs in each of the first three innings en route to an 11-0 victory over the previously undefeated Falcons in a mercy-rule shortened 4 ½ -inning Division I baseball game Wednesday.

The victory pulled the Hawks into a first place Division I-West tie with the Falcons both with 11-1 records. Cranston West had posted an 8-5 victory in the first meeting of the season between the two teams who combined have won the past six Division I state championships.

Hendricken freshman Billy Walker sparked the early uprising as he singled-home one run in the first inning then blasted a three-run double in the second. Hendricken pitcher Chris Sheehan gave up only one hit in his five innings of work.
