Cranston West had posted an 8-5 victory in the first meeting of the season between the two teams who combined have won the past six Division I state championships. Hendricken freshman Billy Walker sparked the early uprising as he singled-home one run in the first inning then blasted a three-run double in the second. Hendricken pitcher Chris Sheehan gave up only one hit in his five innings of work. |
