-- In Game 1 it was the Orlando Magic who blew the game open in the second quarter, increasing a five point lead to 18 by halftime.

In Game 2, it's the Boston Celtics who have poured it on in the second quarter, increasing their five-point first-quarter lead to 61-46 at the break.

They are pushing the ball up the court after every Orlando miss, playing stellar defense, dominating the paint, and shooting the lights out.

The Magic, meanwhile, are allowing the Celtics to do just about everything they want.
And they are doing it all, for the most part, without captain Paul Pierce, who has played just over five minutes because of foul trouble (he picked up his third foul with 6:20 remaining in the half and played just three minutes in the first quarter).

Eddie House and Glen Davis sparked Boston's offense in the beginning of the second quarter, combining for 11 of Boston's first 15 points of the quarter, as the Celtics began the quarter with a 15-5 run.

Davis capped off the surge with a layup that gave the Celtics a 41-28 lead. But the Celtics weren't finished. While House continued to have the hot hand - he scored 11 points in the quarter - Allen (13 points), Perkins (14 points, 5 rebounds), and Brian Scalabrine (5 points) got in on the action, while Rondo ran the offense to near perfection.

House gave the Celtics their biggest lead of the half, 59-40, on a 3-pointer with 1:17 left, and the crowd erupted in "E-D-D-I-E," chants.

J.J. Redick had the hot hand for Orlando in the first quarter, but the Celtics shut him out in the second quarter. He still leads the Magic with 11 points. Dwight Howard has nine points and eight rebounds, and Rashard Lewis has eight points and six rebounds.

The Celtics have knocked down 55.6 percent of their shots so far while holding Orlando to 41.5 percent shooting, and the Celtics have out-rebounded Orlando, 24-18. In addition, the Celtics have 22 assists to just 10 for Orlando.
