BARRINGTON, R.I. -- One or more members of the Barrington High School lacrosse team stole an iPod and approximately $180 in cash from the locker room at the Moses Brown School on the East Side of Providence. John R. Gray, the Barrington High School principal, said that the incident occurred during a game at Moses Brown School in Providence early last week. He also said that one of the Barrington players has since returned the iPod and added that school officials are hoping that the money will be returned. Gray said details of the incident are sketchy because the matter remains under investigation by both the Providence and Barrington police. The Barrington detective investigating the case was off-duty Tuesday and could not be reached for comment. "We will cooperate fully with the police and Moses Brown," Gray said. "We are embarrassed by this incident. We will give the kids every opportunity to step forward." Gray said he isn't sure how many Barrington teens were involved in the incident, but said that disciplinary action will be taken when the investigation is over. |
