Nick Evans hit a two-run, walk-off home run in the 15th inning off Carlos Maldonado, who is usually a catcher, to lead the Buffalo Bisons to a 4-2 victory over the Pawtucket Red Sox today in Buffalo.

The game was Clay Buchholz's first start of the year for the PawSox; he was not very sharp, walking four batters and giving up two runs (one unearned) in 3.2 innings of work. Buchholz did strike out three, and he allowed three hits.

After Buchholz left the game, the PawSox got shutout relief work from six different pitchers -- Jose Vaquedano, Billy Traber, Daniel Bard, Hunter Jones, Marcus McBeth and Fernando Cabrera (who escaped a bases-loaded, none-out jam in the bottom of the 14th) -- before Maldonado entered the game, with the bullpen depleted, in the 15th. He failed to record an out, walking Fernando Martinez before giving up the game-winning blast.

Chip Ambres hit a solo home run in the seventh inning, which tied the game at 2-2.
