| Will Celtics win NBA title if Garnett is not 100 percent? »
BOSTON -- Celtics director of basketball operations Danny Ainge said on WEEI today that Kevin Garnett's knee injury has no structural damage, and that surgery was never an option. "From my understanding, surgery was never really discussed as an option," Ainge said. "There is a spur on the back of the knee that is rubbing against the tendon and for it to do that, it's not a structural damage." Both Ainge and coach Doc Rivers said that they expect Garnett to be 100 percent, or close to it, by the time the playoffs start. "I would be very, very surprised if Kevin Garnett is not playing Game One of the playoffs," Rivers said. |
