By Joe McDonald BOSTON -- Jon Lester provided a solid pitching performance to lead the Red Sox to a 2-1 margin of victory over the Orioles Sunday afternoon at Fenway Park. The southpaw worked seven scoreless innings and allowed only four hits with two walks and nine strikeouts. It was his first victory of 2009. Dustin Pedroia and Mike Lowell drove in both runs for the Sox. After Lester's outing, reliever Ramon Ramirez retired the side in order in the eighth before Takashi Saito surrendered a run in the top of the ninth for a 2-1 final. |
