--- Washington is taking advantage of playing the Celtics minus the Big Three, and are up 83-79 after three quarters of play. The Celtics used a 15-4 run to close out the first half to give them a 57-52 lead at the break. They continued to pour it on at the beginning of the third quarter, beginning the second half with a 9-4 surge to expand their lead to 66-56. But when Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins went to the bench midway through the third quarter, the Wizards came roaring back. A Nick Young steal and layup capped off a 17-4 Washington surge that gave the Wizards a 73-70 lead. A Glen Davis free throw ended Boston's three minute scoring drought, but Washington remained hot and will take a four point lead into the fourth quarter. Caron Butler (24 points), Young (15 points), and JaVale McGee (11 points) are Washington's top scorers. Leon Powe (16 points, 10 rebounds), Tony Allen (13 points), Glen Davis (12 points) and Kendrick Perkins (10 points) have kept Boston in the game. Washington outscored Boston, 31-22, in the third quarter. |
