The teams played three times this season, twice in Boston and once in Chicago. The home team won all three meetings.
Oct. 31: Celtics 96, Bulls 80. Kevin Garnett had 18 points (reaching the 1,000-point milestone for his career) and 10 rebounds as the Celtics led by double-digits from the end of the first quarter until the end of the game. The Bulls, who shot under 30 percent for the game, were led by rookie point guard Derrick Rose's 18 points.
Dec. 19: Celtics 126, Bulls 108. This was Boston's 17th victory in its early-season 19-game winning streak. Ray Allen had 27 points and Kendrick Perkins a career-high 25, while Rajon Rondo dished out 15 assists. Boston rested most of its starters in the fourth quarter. The Bulls were playing without Tyrus Thomas, and Drew Gooden sprained an ankle early in the game.
March 17: Bulls 127, Celtics 121. Chicago handed Boston its fourth loss in five games on this night, as John Salmons poured in 38 points and Doc Rivers was ejected after picking up his second technical foul with less than a minute to play. Paul Pierce had 37 for the Garnett-less Celtics. The 127 scored by Chicago in this game were the most surrendered by Boston in any game this season.
