-- The Celtics second unit proved to be no match for Chicago's 'B' team in the second quarter, and the Bulls currently lead the Celtics, 61-58, at halftime because of it.

Boston's second unit of Stephon Marbury, Leon Powe, Mikki Moore, and Eddie House, along with Paul Pierce, were outplayed by Chicago to start the second quarter.

Chicago had starters Tyrus Thomas, Derrick Rose, and John Salmons in the game to start the second quarter, along with subs Brad Miller and Lindsey Hunter.

Chicago opened up the second quarter with a 7-0 run to take its first lead of the game, 36-35, after a Miller 3-pointer.

The Celtics called a timeout to stop the bleeding and put Rajon Rondo, Glen Davis and Kendrick Perkins back into the game. That quickly turned the tide as Boston used an 8-0 run in less than two minutes to go back up, 43-36.

The Celtics were in control after that until Rondo left the game with a right ankle sprain with 5:03 remaining in the half. The Bulls took advantage of Rondo's absence and closed out the half with a 19-10 run over the final 5:03.

Despite missing the final 5:03 of the second quarter, Rondo still leads the Celtics with 15 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. Glen Davis ahs 14 points and four rebounds, and Paul Pierce has 10 points and three rebounds.

Ray Allen is struggling once again with only two points on 1-of-4 shooting, and his counterpart, Ben Gordon, is having a monster game (17 points).

Brad Miller has 14 points and 6 rebounds off the bench for Chicago.

Chicago is winning the battle at the free throw line which is a major reason why they are up at the break. The Bulls are 21-for-24 from the charity stripe, while the Celtics are 7-for-13.
