| Celtics-Bulls in-game update: Celtics trail by four entering fourth quarter »
-- Chicago's athleticism is hurting Boston, and as a result, the Celtics trail the Bulls, 47-44 at halftime. The Bulls are scoring in transition, scoring off the pick-and-roll, and have, at times, been able to beat the Celtics off the dribble. With leading scorer Ben Gordon being slowed by a strained left hamstring and the Celtics doing everything they can to contain Derrick Rose (6 points), Kirk Hinrich has stepped up and has been hurting the Celtics on both ends of the court. He leads the Bulls with 14 points, and he held Pierce scoreless in the second quarter with his aggressive style of defense. Along with Hinrich, John Salmons (9 points), Tyrus Thomas (8 points) and Joakim Noah (5 points, 9 rebounds) are also playing well for the Bulls. Kendrick Perkins (8 points, 9 rebounds), Glen Davis (8 points, 4 rebounds), and Rajon Rondo (10 points) were Boston's go-to guys in the first half. The Celtics are shooting 43.9 percent to Chicago's 39.5 percent, but the Bulls are up thanks to 10 second chance points. They've also made five more free throws than the Celtics. Neither team led by more than six points in the first half. The Bulls closed out the first half with an 11-6 run. |
