Kahiem Seawright scored 21 points and Keith Cothran added 20 as the Rhode Island Rams continued their winning ways with a tough 73-71 road win over Duquesne today in Pittsburgh. Rhode Island shot 57 percent from the field in the game, including five for 11 from 3-point range. The win put the Rams back in sole possession of second place in the Atlantic 10 and clinched a first-round bye in the conference tournament.

The Rams, who trailed by six at halftime, took the lead for good on Seawright's two foul shots with a minute and 43 seconds left to play. URI extended the lead to 73-68 with 12 seconds to play, but a 3-pointer by Duquesne's Aaron Jackson kept the Dukes alive. Jackson had a chance to win it after Seawright missed a free throw with five seconds left, but his attempt at a buzzer-beating 3-pointer was no good.

Jackson led Duquesne with a game-high 24 points.

The win puts the Rams at 11-4 in the Atlantic 10, 22-8 overall, and drops Duquesne to 8-6 and 17-10.
