BOSTON -- Boston All-Star and team captain Paul Pierce told ABC that he would retire if Celtics coach Doc Rivers were to leave after the season ended. When told about Pierce's comments, Rivers was touched. "He's not going to retire for a while then," Rivers said, because Rivers doesn't plan on leaving anytime soon. "That's flattering obviously. Let's hope he's here a long time. It means a lot to me. Our relationship has grown a long, long way. It's been amazing. He's more than just a player to me now." |
