PROVIDENCE - When you win 28 state championships in a 32-year period there have to be some great comebacks. But maybe no Mount team has ever matched what this year's Mounties did en route to the state crown. It was Evan Hoffman's goal at 1:33 of the third sudden death overtime that gave Mount St. Charles the 5-4 victory over Hendricken, which completed a sweep of the best of three Division I title and marked the second straight night the Mounties had overcome a two-goal deficit. Mount had won the first game of the series Thursday night with a 4-3 overtime victory after overcoming a 3-1 early second period deficit. --JOHN GILLOOLY |
