Masterson, Bowden dominant in PawSox' victory over Louisville

Justin Masterson and Michael Bowden combined for 14 strikeouts to lead the Pawtucket Red Sox to a 4-1 victory over the Louisville Bats in an exhibition baseball game Thursday at Fort Myers, Fla. Masterson pitched the first 4.2 innings without allowing a run. He walked two, gave up four hits and fanned six. Reliever Marcus McBeth got the final out of the fifth inning. Bowden pitched the final four innings and gave up a run, three hits and struck out eight.

Left-fielder Zach Daeges had an RBI single in the second inning that scored Rocco Baldelli, who doubled. Daeges added another RBI single in the fourth. Pawtucket scored two more runs in the fifth when right-fielder Bubba Bell had an RBI single and scored on a sacrifice fly by Ivan Ocha. The PawSox improved to 4-4 in exhibition play.
