strawberry0304.jpgDarryl Strawberry, the former Mets and Yankees star whose drug problems prompted Fenway fans to chant "Just Say No" at him during the 1999 American League Championship Series (Strawberry quieted them in Game 4 by cracking a home run off Brett Saberhagen, which led hitting coach Chris Chambliss to exclaim, 'Just say yes!' -- I digress), told The New York Post today that he definitely would have taken steroids if they were prominent in the game during his heyday.

"Hell yeah, I would have used them! Are you kidding me? I mean, c'mon. Some things are part of what athletes go through, and they happen."

Strangely, the Straw Man said that he took a pass on steroids during the late 1990s, when performance-enhancing drugs were rampant in baseball and Strawberry's career was winding down. He says he was too old at the time.
