BOSTON (AP) -- The coach for NBA's best team is in trouble with the league.
The NBA fined Doc Rivers $15,000 Saturday "for verbal abuse of game officials" following the Boston Celtics bitter 110-109 overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night.
NBA executive vice president for basketball operations did not provide additional information in a two-sentence statement announcing the penalty.
Celtics spokesman Jeff Twiss did not immediately return calls and an e-mail seeking comment.
