BOSTON -- The Celtics, playing without All-Star Kevin Garnett (flu), are clinging to a 29-24 lead over the Minnesota Timberwolves after one quarter of play. Paul Pierce leads all scorers with nine points (4 rebounds) while Kendrick Perkins (5 rebounds) and Ray Allen each have eight points. Former Celtic Al Jefferson leads Minnesota with eight points. The Celtics and Timberwolves are both shooting well from the floor. Boston has knocked down 52.3 percent of its shots (11-of-21) and Minnesota has connected on 50 percent of its shots (10-of-20). |
