A new name has come into the forefront of Boston's mission to add some height to a depleted bench - Mikki Moore.
The 7-foot, 225-pound Moore was released by Sacramento after Boston sent Patrick O'Bryant to Toronto for Will Solomon, and then shipped Solomon out to Sacramento for a second-round pick.
The 10-year NBA veteran out of Nebraska could provide the height and experience that Boston is looking for. Moore averaged 3.5 points and 3.3 rebounds in 46 games for Sacramento this season.
In a perfect world, the source said, the Celtics would love to have Oklahoma City forward Joe Smith or retired forward P.J. Brown, but landing either one of them seems unlikely.
Brown has officially said that he is not coming out of retirement this year, and Smith would need to be bought out of his contract before the Celtics would have a chance of signing him.
