The orchestra is releasing the "Red Sox Album" on April 6, baseball's opening day, in partnership with the team.

The CD includes baseball standards like "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" and the movie score from "The Natural."

Other songs are beloved by Red Sox fans, including "Sweet Caroline," sung during every game at Fenway Park, and the Dropkick Murphy's "I'm Shipping Up to Boston," soundtrack to closer Jonathan Papelbon's goofy Irish jig.

The crack of David Ortiz's bat can be heard during John Philip Sousa's "National Game March."

Conductor Keith Lockhart said Thursday he wanted to make the album because he'd "been thinking it would be really great to tie two of Boston's great traditions together."
