Kevin has the latest on Syracuse's injury problems, the remaining matchup problems posed by Jonny Flynn and company, the importance of the game to both teams, and PC's continued high-scoring ways. Here's what Kevin said about Syracuse's injuries this morning: "They basically are going to be able to play with only six healthy scholarship players, which obviously is fortunate for Providence. Andy Rautins -- the starting two guard, one of the better 3-points shooters in the country -- is not even here. He has a badly sprained ankle; he's in Syracuse receiving treatment. Maybe more important: Arinze Onuaku, Syracuse's starting center, seems to have a troublesome knee, and I don't think he's going to play either. He is here, will attempt to warm up and try, but people I talked to with the Syracuse team, they don't expect Arinze to go either. So Jim Boeheim's very short-handed. He had already had two kids out for the season with injuries and is red-shirting another, so truly just six players in Syracuse's rotation, a very thin team tonight." |
