I asked Paul about something I read recently on the URI Bulletin Board -- despite their protests to the contrary, are the Rams really just a ninth-place A-10 team, as predicted before the season? I also asked about the failure of the Rams to adjust to Richmond's inside scoring success earlier this week, about the health of Keith Cothran and Delroy James, and about the dangers posed by struggling George Washington. Here's what Paul said about whether ninth place is really about right for the Rams: "The way things are going now, absolutely. They're obviously struggling. The problem now becomes not just the opponent, but themselves and how they're going to handle all this. If you're sitting somewhere else in the league and looking at things, I'm sure [you're saying], 'Rhode Island ninth, we've said that all along.' But I still insist, after I've seen them play 19 games so far, that they're better than that. They keep talking about how they feel they're better than that. If you force me to make a prediction now, I still think they're going to finish better than that." |
