Paul talks about the URI Rams' continuing questions on defense, the struggles of their next opponent, St. Joseph's, and the ticket to victory for URI in Philadelphia on Saturday. Here's what Paul said about St. Joseph's lack of depth, and URI's chances of exploiting it: "Ahmad Nivins, who's one of the best players if not the best player in the A-10, is averaging a double double ... but he's also averaging 38 minutes a game. They have two other starters who are at 33 minute a game. They don't use many players at all, and Rhode Island obviously likes to press, wants to press. St. Joe's, I remember, last year didn't have a lot of depth either. They were willing to run with URI when they came to visit here at the Ryan Center, and did it successfully. They beat Rhode Island 90-83. But Pat Calathes, who killed Rhode Island for four years, and Rob Ferguson, another very good player, are gone for St. Joseph's. They're a different team; they definitely have not been playing as well as they have in the past. The one statistic jumps out at me, which sounds incredible for St. Joseph's -- they have yet two win two games in a row all season. ... They won their last game, and they'll be bidding for two in a row tomorrow." |
